I think that you probably know this, but Matthew presents Jesus as King, Mark, Jesus as a servant, Luke, Jesus as a man, and John, Jesus as God.
I've relaxed over the years and I'm far more tolerant of religion these days, I'm certainly not one of those militant intolerant atheists. But I will firmly defend secularization. But just a firmly as I defend our freedom of religion.

Well, let me share with you this thought about my personal experience: at a time when I barely had any clue what homosexuality was but was for the first time becoming aware of people in my life who self-identified as such I was reading the Bible (which I believed was the source of ultimate moral wisdom) and came, again, to a section on homosexuality.
The first recorded idea of single transcendent God was suggested by Pharaoh Echnaton. The Egyptian priest Moses conveyed it to the Jews.
Not all of them obviously.
