There are a few openminded people on this board, but they can be very hard to find.
That's the whole point.
Never once did he say that he Bible is ?not all true?. He may have called Maher out on saying things that are ?not all true? which is how he won the debate. Maher?s side is pointed out to be falsifiable, which is how Douthat wins.
Most gonorrhea is curable, I believe. It's herpes you really don't want.
You can conflate what you wish, as I will as well. Believe me, this shit will last until we get to appoint a SCOTUS judge, unless some other asshole republican steals it. Then, it's gone. This travel ban is as useless as your president, and does nothing but reduce America's respect in the world, the same thing your president accomplishes.
Hang on a sec., I'm sure I'll need an Advil.
Nope to all of it.
Ah okay. I don't really agree with that definition of objective. Objective doesn't just mean "popular" or "consensus" it means independent of personal feelings or opinions - not just yours -
Smoking, indirect or rotisserie?
Where is this magical theater that serves lasagna? It sounds like Nirvana.
Of course not, Sweetie. Just believe whatever you want, regardless of facts. Facts are so overrated anyway, aren't they?
I figured it was a simple misunderstanding. Glad to see we can agree :)
I'm not usually a "cause a fit" sort of person... but reading what you wrote, I wonder if you've been forceful enough. You'd like to think doctors can understand what you're going through
I know what we are talking about. I agree it is a problem. I certainly wasn't ignoring the subject.
It's not an either/or.
The Atlantic, no surprise. What an ivory tower of Unbiased Journalistic integrity..
I believe that many believers are called into politics, take Mike Pence for example.
well you have knowledge now. and hopefully you will find someone who can respond it an honest and faithful way to the relationships you wish. and you have happiness awaiting you. my best wishes are with you,, my freind
Its not a generalization at all. I stated "read the disqus posts left by conservatives".....which is very specific. What bothers you is that you know its true!
I'm not sure that analogy fits for every abortion though. Most people go through pregnancy without serious bodily harm, and we allow medically necessitated abortions for women whose pregnancies are threatening that serious bodily harm. Allowing abortions to be legal before that threat actually materialized would be similar to allowing people to preemptively shoot a guy that owns a gun simply because he could be a threat in the future. I don't think any self-defense law would allow that.
I've said this many times over the past yrs. & I would even include administering a lie detector test's to all of those accusers involved in the case especially to all those bringing in the She said / He said cases. Especially when they have no physical evidence / proof of any kind, that would eliminate most of BS in such cases & the wasting of taxpayers $$$!
Thank you Joshua
"The human mind made it up by automatically ascribing a cause to every effect which is how we became a species of acquired knowledge. " - can you show proof for this claim?
Still waiting for you to answer the question I asked
Until you?ve encountered demons and or other spirits, you don't qualify to judge what is authentically supernatural. You seriously do not have a clue of what you are talking about. By reading the comments in this discussion, you have a lot of company.
Is that why you continue to bring up "Texas IQ"?
Insults deleted, agnosic1.
Will wisdom upgrade society? Depends on what you mean by wisdom. If you think wisdom is understanding the will of god, no that does not "upgrade society". If you define wisdom as the acquisition of knowledge over a lifetime, then yes wisdom does "upgrade society" but it is completely unrelated to religion as most of the knowledge we have today came from our own investigation of the natural world and not the bible or other ancient texts. As to whether "wisdom" benefited Solomon or not is not a question that can be answered. Record keeping in the early iron age was not very good so I do not consider any of the written text to be reliable. There will always be a need for rules and laws since we all have different opinions of what is right and wrong. So as a society we have to come up with baseline rules to make sure that we are protected from each other.
I think we should make adjustments to the system so people working full time aren?t living below the poverty line.
There are very intelligent people in most religions, as well as no religion. Even the most intelligent people have a brain the is predictably irrational, and can compartmentalize false ideas from critical thiking.
Everyone DOES agree on what is beautiful. There are differences of opinion about what is fashionable but that isn't the point. Beauty is the nature of both the objects of perception as well as the sensory machinery which 'sees' it. Beauty is the nature of reality. It's everywhere and in everything.
Hitting the sauce early, eh?
