Thanks dancy! :)
You think calling them names makes them take a harder look at themselves? 1.7billion people, and all illiterate goat farmers?
That sounds a little Coyne-ish, but it's hard to say right now.
I need to see this eternal life first before I believe it's there.
Tend to agree that we will find life in many forms.
I might have used the same arguments in a debate but I would not have used the same language. People express themselves differently. Some people get very emotional and it comes out in their speech. He probably feels free to insult the god of the old testament because he doesn't actually believe that that god exists. I think he is trying to show that belief in that god is not very logical because, if he actually exists, he is not very nice.
In my opinion there is a distinct difference between intuition, and emotions, or feelings. Over time I have learned to distinguish the difference and have also learned to listen to my intuition; especially when it is screaming at me. Never been wrong once when I have listened to it; been wrong every single time I did not. Plus I believe that intuition does become more sensitive if attention is paid to it. I agree about the making decisions based on emotions, or feelings being a mistake more often then not.
Do your keagles!
I would argue it was Jews, and the Jewish rendition of God, that were the first people preoccupied with them...
You are not grasping our laws. Youre ignoring that exemptions exist and are LEGAL, regardless of how you feel about them. Youre ignoring facts in the baker case.
You come back with the homosexual argument? You can move on from that one because it is the people that don't like homosexuals. The church could come out today and say that homosexuality is fine and it wouldn't make a difference. People don't like homosexuals.
I saw a T-shirt that had a picture of a cartoon 10 ton block with 5 little pairs of legs sticking out.
According to Luke, Jesus met with his disciples in Jerusalem (24:33-43), and then commanded them to stay there until they were ?endued with power from on high? (24:49). Matthew has them going to Galilee about three days journey from Jerusalem. Is there an explanation for this apparent contradiction?
Quoting relevant Bible passages to such people is like sunlight to vampires.
The LOL is good!
Not an interpretation. Read the book. There are indeed clean animals and those that are labeled "unclean". In the light of that the part you attempted to use to further you personal agenda reads a lot different than what you said.
Sure, tell them that. And explain why they identify with LGBT?
It is! My wife and I really enjoy it.
Way more to mental illness than Bipolar, or dementia, or schizophrenia...
Not Carl Sagan at all, from what I gather. It tends to be dogmatic followers of Dawkins (not necessarily Dawkins himself) who are card-carrying evangelists for how bad religion is and how great it is to be atheist, clinging to the story that rationality is only possible with atheism, that atheism will improve the world etc.
There was a massive flood of people streaming into Europe at the time but it could be argued that part of that was due to the encouragement they received to come. People got that message. I don't think that was the reason in the case of the Syrians, but for some others I think it was.
"Let?s deal with facts," you write. Then you offer nothing but personal opinions.
I think that it was a group dynamic thing. Everyone HAD to contribute. So the dads hunted, the mothers gathered and the elder children (10-12's) looked after the younger kids. Everyone had to contribute or the system broke down.
I think what's practiced is so routinely bald-facedly evil, immoral and contrary to what's written that it's not worth attending.
