Good thing I'm not in your neighborhood -- you'd be chasing me away on the regular along with all the rabbits and possums or whatever lol
You and Carrier are total mythicists against all evidence, so we trust you much, much less than the objective Tim O'Neill and Bart Erhman.
True. But that is the nature of a capitalistic society. Everyone will not be Steve Jobs or Mark Zuckerberg. But if the rewards didn't exist, would these people necessarily exist? would the innovation exist? The idea that this kind of success is achievable fuels this kind of ambition.
talent show with pics... I got a Joan Rivers pic...
I have seen this illusion plausibly explained. All illusion is and can be explained for whatever physical contraptions are used to portray the hoax. This is not so with magic. Magic is paranormal; illusory is not. The error many people make in their understanding about them is that they think the two are one in the same thing, but they aren?t. They are a world apart from one another.
Working in many different male dominated fields, I've heard it and experienced it a lot.
God can't be disproved of course, which is why assertions about deities works on people. It's not much of a reason for belief, but I guess it works for some.
"If I don't have to pay for it, it's fair."
He would have "facilitated" in the same way as I mentioned with the imperfect analogy with driving the person.
I can say whatever I want on my own website. It is covered by the first amendment. I am sorry if that saddens you.
How can that be when it is the Conservatives that the low-information voters park their votes with?
"God took 6 days to make everything."
Jesus will say, "I never knew you". You can call yourself a tweetie bird but that doesn't mean you will grow wings and fly.
agreed, if congress would freeze spending at current levels, for several years, and work together we might get some form of a plan together. The tariffs or a small part of our problem, government spending is the biggest issue, imo
Good point. Unplanned pregnancies happen but if they happen to someone frequently I also worry that they aren't protecting themselves from disease.
I prefer the description --Pot-Likker
I think it's that individualistic viewpoint. We want everyone to take care of themselves, we want limited government, and we want to dictate where our taxes go but we also want to dictate to women what they can and can't do with their body.
I'm just being silly :)
well said and the whole idea of a scientific theory is that others can replicate it with the same results. This, too, helps eliminate confirmation bias
As near as I can tell, Jesus had a bad weekend.
The church should stick with doing good works for the already born. Lay off the demonizing of humans who are just being human. Actions speak a lot louder than words.
Yes, I agree it should have been in person. And if she was concerned she'd become emotional in front of your friend trying to talk about it, she should really ask herself if they're close enough for her to be making those requests too. For a casual friend, I don't see why she can't just explain she might need to be a little MIA during the baby showers and whatnot as she copes, but that she sincerely still wishes her the best.
