The problem isn't that they used force to try and make him sit, The problem is that the force they used to make him sit was excessive.
I figure Christians had slaves too. Why would they have been any different than the later Christians who went in for slavery big time.
Perhaps he was provoked by one of our in-forum bullies? :-)
That's not true -- HBCU's regularly allow non-black people to attend. Went to Howard University for a semester, there were and still are plenty of white people, Asians, and other races/ethnicities that attend HBCUs...
I don't think it's right to say that judgement necessarily has some form of punishment element. I don't flagellate myself or do a penance when I exercise self-judgement. It's simply a means to identify that in me which is opposed to God, and therefore opposed to what is good, and to turn away from it. The punishment which was due to me for my sins was borne by my Saviour on the cross - I've no need to punish myself. I do have a need to be maintained in self-judgement though. Maintenance in self-judgement can't merely be by the conscience, but rather by the conscience enlightened by the Holy Spirit, who indwells me. And self-judgement is with a view to allowing the Spirit scope to work with me, and it's by His operations that I'm maintained in usefulness and happiness. Without making way for the Spirit to work by the necessary exercise of self-judgement, I couldn't possibly be happy or serviceable.
Right. I'm all for cross-race, cross-ethnicity hiring, so long as the hired people are competent and don't drag down the position and their fellow workers with "special needs" issues. Unless the job is specifically for trainees, the employee must be expected to understand and perform the job as described.
Your comment is the only one that matters on this thread! The Fundamentalist of ANY Religious Organization have it all wrong and do not represent Christ in any way, shape or form. ALL Religious Organizations have created and applied their own Theology in order to create their positions of Headship over the Men in their Organizations. I will speak of the Christian sects first. By using theological applications, they were/are able to create positions of Authority/Headship/Shepherdship/Intercessor/Lordship over the Christian men in their Churches/Congregations. They place themselves in between Man and Christ but..... We read at 1 Corinthians 11:3 that Christ is the Head of a Man. There is no room for any one else to come in between Christ and the Man. This agrees with Ephesians 5:22.25. The Shepherds spoken of in Acts chapter 20 were appointed by the Apostle Paul who was very concerned that the Wolves Jesus warned about at Matthew 7:15 were going to enter into the Christian Congregations after Paul was gone. Paul had warned of these ones forming an Apostasy at 2 Thessalonians Chapter 2. It takes quite a bit of Theological Application to produce a Doctrine that allows Men to take Headship over Christian Men. This is a Theological position held by all modern Christian Organizations, it is not Scriptural. Religious Organizations have moved so far from the teachings of Christ that it makes absolutely no sense to belong to one. Note: I am a Christian Man. I Profess Jesus Christ. God's Word the Bible is my guide. I believe it was written for all of us to read daily and learn it's full message. No one should need the Middle Man[ Religious Organization] to achieve their personal relationship with God through Christ.
Scientific theory is never elevated to law. That's just not how it works. A scientific law predicts what happens; a theory proposes why. A theory will never become a law, though the development of one often triggers progress on the other.
I would not expect a nurse or anyone to wax me in such places.
Glad you appreciate. That is indeed the ratio that I am outnumbered here most days. :)
I will be driving through Kansas this summer. I'll have to check it out. I'll take pictures!
That its NOT a one-off is even more tragic.
A "conservative" who does not value the fact that others have rights, even liberals, is not a conservative but simply another tyrant.
I certainly wouldn't have a problem with my child being taught by a trans, gay, Muslim as long as they teach without advocacy. I do believe that children can make it through high school with the gender they were born with, using appropriate rest rooms. At that point hopefully their mind is developed enough to make a more educated decision. Of course there are exceptions but not enough to be building new bathrooms.
I prefer lentils in a soy reduction.
From God Himself and then also other Brothers and Sisters who heard from God Himself. We teach One another from what our Father teaches Us.
