A quick reference, not particularly authorative, is Josephus telling the incident about Ananus ben Ananus, a Saducee, and high priest, assembling a Sanhedrin and causing "James, the Just, Brother of Jesus, who was called the Christ" to be stoned, whereupon the people reported this to the king, Herod Agrippa, who deposed Ananus from the high priesthood because "it was not legal to assemble a Sanhedrin without his consent." and naming Jesus ben Damneus to be high priest."
Didn't you listen?? You do not see the same in the Bible. no one does. It is an impossibility. The absolutely perfect and omnipotent YHVH cannot produce error.
"Why aren't you living it up?" I thought I was living it up. I work hard, obey the rules and do as I please all while being an atheist. I have bucket list of things I wish to do before I leave this existence and some I have accomplished and some I am working on. Nothing on my list is immoral as far as I know, the ones that require another person I ask for consent prior to that activity. The people that worry me are the ones that say why aren't you raping and killing or sleeping with everyone one you meet? I usually have to tell them that if that is what they would do if they lost their belief in what ever religion, god or holy book the currently follow I'm glad they believe and to please continue believing. Those people make me nervous.
lol I don?t think she?s that bad. Just some of the things she has said are snobby or defensive
I think I'll try the 10% for a couple of weeks and if I see no improvement, exchange them for the 20%. They aren't cheap so I don't want to use them up if they aren't working lol.
THEY TURK ARE JERBS!!!
It you have read it then you would know that the sermon on the Mt. was an adddress to the nation Israel, as their Messiah, and not to the church, the body of Christ. Paul was the apostle to the Gentiles, it was not his ministry to proclaim the message of the kingdom of heaven to the Gentiles. His message dealt with the crosswork of Christ Jesus, that opened up salvation based on the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. It is not up to Gentiles to recognize Christ as the king of Israel for salvation, but rather that he died and rose from the dead for their sins, and justification. Even if you don?t believe any of this by faith, THAT is the ?story? of what is presented. Christopher Hitchens, a well known atheist, even understood the ?story?.
perk* good morning Tex!
Once again there is a news story that paints Christians as unfeeling jerks.
But kids need to know not everything is equal. As is life, you just have to deal with loss of power and fairness at times. I think it may be harder with boys to not feel powerless in a super-hero fueled immature generation.
The "blind watchmaker" is an analogy for natural selection, not for your parents.
I think it was Sam Kinison who said something like that. "I won't care because I'm DEAD!!!"
Using words you don't understand the nuanced meaning of, but were listed as a synonym for whichever word you looked up so you could sound (as opposed to being) more erudite makes one "educated?" That's a stretch, lol.
Oh yeah, some wars. But nothing like the crusades, with united many nations under one faith. without that church power, many would have told the others to bugger off
So... Trump could have pardoned him?
They did have the best of intentions. Whether you're sick or healthy, it's nice to know that somebody is thinking about you.
We're only talking about generic Creator right now, not my God. It's just a scale of certainty. Pretty simple.
Hahahaha! That's my hidden talent.
Two games in one day, the same teams. : )
Not your fault, she's a dippy...
You got further than I did. Respect.
Fair enough. Good tilt. Cheers.
Considering that this particular urban myth originates from Protestant Christians opposed to the Catholic Church in the mid to late 18th century it is kind of amusing that you are now calling out atheists for delusions.
Btw, I broke your code yesterday, but ???? reminded me of leis, so I had to say that. :D
Why would liberals and the mentally ill care? I thought they hate Trump, but they want a proclamation?
